Riverside Soul Started off by using as its main venue the Riverside Sports and Social club in St. Oswalds Road, Gloucester. I am pleased to announce that I now have the use of Wotton Hall club, Barnwood Road, Gloucester which is a superb venue. One of the best around and a dance floor up there with the best. I will be running Allnighters there, as well as Motown and soul Nights there. I have the capability to run 2 room events if I wish and will be doing so at the Allnighters. It is my intention to run 3 Allnighters in 2010, in addition to the one on August 14th of this year. The events page is being updated with all events taken place in both venues. The name 'Riverside Soul' is one that I see, as one, that can be taken to other locations throughout the area, either as one-off or a more permanent measure.
Our music policy is 'Across the Board' . My definition of that is Upfront 60's, some 70's, Quality oldies, dash of R&B and quality Motown. We are an OVO (original vinyl only) venue, with the exception of previously unissued material, such as Kent 45's. The resident DJ's are always looking to play new finds and not to keep playing the same oldies over and over again. Of course, the floor has to be catered for. For 2009 I will not be using Top Line Guest DJ's at every event but will use local quality DJ's as well as one or two of the top names. The residents DJ's at Riverside are Des Parker, Sue Taylor and Mike Eskins.
LATEST NEWS Next event is on Friday 26th March at Wotton hall club for a night of Motown, Northern Soul and Soul club Classics. DJ's will be Sue taylor, Jerry Hipkiss, leon Brown and Mike Eskins. Tickets are £5 or pay on the door for £5. The Next allnighter will be on friday 7th May 2010 with our resident DJ's: Sean Chapman, Pete Lyster, Des Parker, Leon Brown and Mike Eskins. Guests will be confirmed later. Advance tickets will be £8 and £10 to pay on the door.

I will do my best to get playlists from each DJ following Soul nights. However, a growing number of DJ's are reluctant to produce playlist for a variety of reasons. I respect their decision as to whether or not to do a playlist. Playlists can be found by going to the DJ's page and then clicking the 'playlist' link to the right of the page.
I believe that we have a friendly regular group of regulars and you will be made most welcome. So whether you like to dance or listen to good tunes come and give us a visit.
