Riverside Soul is independent of the club management in the running and format of soul nights.I am currently using the Riverside sports complex, which is situated in St. Oswalds Road, Gloucester. The name 'Riverside Soul' is one that I see, as one, that can be taken to other locations throughout the area, either as one-off or a more permanent measure.
Our music policy is 'Across the Board' with Northern, of course, playing a big part. The guest DJ is normally what I term as a 'premier player' and on the national scene. In 2008 I have so far lined up: Sean Chapman, Nige Brown, Nick Borst(Cleethorpes), Pete Stone(Rotherham), Sammy Dee, Steve LLoyd, Jerry Hipkiss, and of course, we have Des Parker as one of the resident DJ's.
Following on from the success of the Motown and old soul night on 22nd February 2008, it is planned to hold further nights throughout the year. Details can be found on the events page. Sue Taylor, who is a Motown Dj has now joined the resident team of Jocks for our soul nights. Because we cannot have two rooms at the current venue, I hope that this will give us a true 'across the board' feel. See the DJ's page for a brief summary of each jock. I will do my best to get playlists from each DJ following Soul nights. Playlists can be found by going to the DJ's page and then clicking the 'playlist' link to the right of the page.
I believe that we have a friendly regular group of regulars and you will be made most welcome. So whether you like to dance or listen to good tunes come and give us a visit.
